Bitcoin Donation

We are Australia’s first political party to accept Bitcoin donations - because we understand that Bitcoin is currency and your money should be yours to do what you want with, not the government’s.

Currently the government does not properly recognise Bitcoin and Political Parties are obligated to collect information on all donations to ensure donations are not coming from citizens & residents of a foreign nation.

We believe your money is yours and that you should be free to live your life to a level of privacy that you dictate.

We wish we could offer an option for anonymous spending, but we're forced to collect details. If you want to change that, vote #1 Libertarian.

Please fill out the form on this page to access our Bitcoin on-chain link for making a donation.

Bitcoin is financial freedom, innovation, and a hedge against inflation. While the major parties tax and control, we’re fighting to protect your right to use Bitcoin freely.

WHY DONATE BITCOIN?

FOREIGN DONORS NOT ALLOWED

The Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 prohibits the knowing receipt of donations from foreign donors. Foreign donors include:

  • an entity (whether or not incorporated) that does not meet any of the following conditions:
    • the entity is incorporated in Australia;
    • the entity's head office is in Australia;
    • the entity's principal place of activity is, or is in, Australia;
  • an individual who is none of the following:
    • an elector;
    • an Australian citizen;
    • an Australian resident;
    • a New Zealand citizen who holds a Subclass 444 (Special Category) visa under the Migration Act 1958 (or if that Subclass ceases to exist, the kind of visa that replaces that Subclass).

Amounts received by the Libertarian Party of $16,900 or above in the 2024-25 financial year will be subject to disclosure under the provisions of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918.
