ECONOMY

Economic freedom ensures the rewards of your hard work stay with you and your family. By simplifying the tax system, reducing red tape, and empowering businesses to grow, the Libertarian Party is committed to creating opportunities for all Australians.

The Libertarian Party will:

  • Raise the income tax-free threshold to $50,000 for individuals and $100,000 for couples, indexed to inflation, with a flat tax rate of 20% on income above these thresholds
  • Reduce the company tax rate to zero and tax distributed earnings at the same 20% flat rate as the income tax
  • Make superannuation voluntary, giving individuals control over their own savings
  • Reduce government involvement in the economy by scaling back regulatory agencies, cutting the ATO workforce by half, and privatising government enterprises like the ABC, SBS, and NBN

MONEY

Inflation silently erodes your wealth, diminishing the value of your hard-earned money. By returning to sound money backed by tangible assets and fostering competition in currency, the Libertarian Party will protect your savings and promote financial stability for all Australians.

The Libertarian Party will:

  • Restrict the Reserve Bank’s focus to maintaining a stable money supply
  • Limit government debt to 60% of its assets and prioritise paying it down with asset sales
  • Recognise gold, Bitcoin, and other alternative currencies to foster financial competition and stability

ENERGY

Australia’s natural resources are key to delivering cheap, reliable energy that empowers families and drives economic growth. Our "no bans, no subsidies" policy will abolish unnecessary regulations, allowing a return to a prosperous and innovative energy market.

The Libertarian Party will:

  • Enforce our "no bans, no subsidies" policy, allowing competition to drive down costs for energy sources
  • Abolish renewable energy targets, including net-zero goals, in favour of practical and affordable energy policies
  • Repeal the ban on nuclear energy to provide cleaner, cost-effective options for the future
  • Protect public land from destructive wind and solar developments that harm natural environments
