QLD Local Election Campaign

Your donation will facilitate democracy and contribute towards growing the Libertarians within QLD and promoting our vision of improved economics, social freedoms and quality of life for individuals, families and communities.

The success of the Libertarian Party depends on the generosity of all the many Australians who choose to financially support us. As an influential but minor party, Libertarians do not have access to the massive resources of the major parties.

The Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) requires the disclosure of gifts to registered political parties. Donors must disclose gifts within seven (7) business days of the date of payment, once they reach a gift threshold of $1,000 in each reporting period (January-June and July-December).

Please note, between 1 July 2022 and 25 November 2024, a single donor can give up to the following amounts in political donations:

  • $4,000 to a registered political party
  • $6,000 collectively to candidates endorsed by the same registered political party

Donations totalling $1,000 or more in the 6-month period must be reported to the Electoral Commission Queensland.

Donations by individuals to registered political parties of between $2 and $1,500 in a financial year are tax deductible.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

You acknowledge that:

  • Donations of $1,000 and over are reportable to the Electoral Commission Queensland (ECQ). A person who makes such a political donation must give ECQ a report in the approved form, eight weeks after the end of a 6 monthly period (i.e. 31 December and 30 June).
  • Political donations from property developers are banned in Queensland under the Electoral Act 1992 (Queensland). The ban includes donations from the spouse of property developers, from related organisations and from individuals with significant interests in corporations involved in property development. By making this donation you confirm that you do not fall within the definition of property developer under the Electoral Act 1992.
